A development in Maddern Road, Chittering, could attract more than 100 new families to the area, according to the developers.
The first stage of the Chittering Springs, which covers a land area nearly as big as Kings Park, is expected to go on sale in July.
It is understood the development will eventaully include 108 blocks, some as large as two hectares.
Project manager Tony Manners said the developers believed the sub-division would help ease Perth’s land shortage.
He said blocks in stage one would start at $285,000 and would be released as the development progressed.
“The developer has done much to protect native wildlife and natural bushland and has worked closely with the council to preserve part of the development as public access and nature reserve”, Mr Manners said.
Civil engineering works for stage one should be finished by the end of June.
The development is aimed at young families, first homebuyers and suburban residents lokking for a lifestyle change.
“Land like this is rare and values in the area have been rising rapidly”, Mr Manners said.
“I would expect the demand for the first blocks released to be very strong.”
